Stretch targets

7 August 2026 · Pat

Hi everyone,

Small release this time, but one a few of you have asked for. You can now set a stretch target alongside any target — a second number above the one you are actually measured against, for when the target is the floor rather than the ceiling.

Stretch targets

You can now set a stretch target alongside any target — a second, higher number that sits above the target you are actually measured against. When you add or edit a target in Manage Targets, there is a new field next to the target amount: Target amount (stretch target). Put a value in it and the target carries both figures.

Manage Targets, adding an individual target, showing the new stretch target field
1 Target amount — the target that counts. Unchanged.
2 Target amount (stretch target) — the new field. Leave it empty and the target behaves exactly as it always has.
  • The field appears on new targets and on existing ones — open any target to edit and it is there.
  • The base target is still the number you are measured against. The stretch sits on top of it — an extended number to aim past, not a replacement. A common approach is to set it around 110% of the target.
  • Any target with a stretch value applied shows a dotted overlay on the target charts. The solid line is still the base target.
  • To see other people’s stretch targets, go to Targets. For your own, go to My Performance → Targets.
Targets page, individual view, showing the stretch target as a dotted overlay on the target charts
1 Solid line — the base target.
2 Dotted line — the stretch target.
3 Legend — the two are labelled “Target” and “Target (stretch)”.

As always, tell us how you find it — particularly whether the stretch line reads clearly on the charts once you have a few months of data behind it.
