Hi everyone,

We have introduced two new target/budget types to our system for you to track:

Billable Hours

If you have a target number of billable hours that a person must perform in any given day, then this will work for you and help your people track their daily hours.

Total hours

If you have a target number of total hours logged that a person must keep timesheets for in a given day, then this is the target to use. This will track all time logged, billable and non-billable.

Budget/targets roadmap

We don’t usually do this but here I thought I’d also let everyone know what will be coming next for budgets/targets. This is based on feedback from our clients, such as yourselves!

Next: Rate Card

We will be putting another entry in the Manage Users section, next to salary, which will allow an admin to set the hourly charge out rate for an individual. This will then be used in targets to allow us to calculate based on Target Hours x Charge Out Rate.

Next: New budget/target type – Target Hours x Charge Out Rate

We will introduce a new type of budget, available against personal timesheets, where if you select Billable, Invoiced or Collected fees you can then specify that the target amount gathered should be hours x rate card.

Soon: Pro-Rata for days worked in given period

We will use region specific (to the national level at a minimum) public holidays to calculate how many working days there are in each period and then pro-rata the budget accordingly.

Soon: Part time/Full time support for pro-rata

We will capture if the person is full time or part time. If part time we will ask which days they work each week and then use that in the pro-rata calculation.

Planned (but not in train): Exclusions

Allow a budget/target to exclude certain things like Billable Fees excluding No Charge timesheets and Negative timesheets.

Planned (but not in train): Pro Rata for leave taken

This is an extensive piece of work which we are planning. We have been asked to include leave at multiple levels in the system, and this may afford us the opportunity to explore extra depth and context in our performance and revenue reporting.

I hope everyone is as excited about the direction of the platform as we are. Please reach out with any questions or suggestions. All of these roadmap items are the direct result of conversations with our community.

Thanks all,

Tom
