Hi Everyone,
We are excited to announce that we are officially live. Law Firms can sign up and subscribe to Workzilla! We are still in Beta and that will continue until we have budgets in the system, however, we do believe that there is enough great functionality in the system currently to make it an offering some firms would value right now.
Any Actionstep firm can now start a 45 day free trial of Workzilla with no strings attached.
In this release we have a bunch of stuff that won’t affect our current users but is of vital importance to Workzilla’s launch and operation.
First, lets talk about the stuff that current users will see:
Company Dashboard
Server Side Calculations
It was brought to our attention that the company dashboard, with all it’s calculations, was a bit intensive for client machines processing larger datasets (bigger firms). We have changed how the information is served; now all the calculations on the dashboard are done server side. This means the data packet has shrunk by a thousand fold and the expectation on the client machine is similarly minimised. We hope this fixes the problem and are eager to hear the results. If it works well we will roll out similar fixes for the Management pages.
First pass at Responsive Pages
Some of you may have noticed that our pages were not well engineered for smaller resolutions. We are now making some moves in that direction with our first pass at responsive design and architecture. You will be able to see this on most of the pages, including the company dashboard.
To accommodate this we are also trialing the truncation of figures on the dashboard totals cards. 1,000,000 is now 1m, 90,000 is now 9k and so on. This allows more room for iconography and responsive design.
Let us know your thoughts please.
Updated the Legends on Dashboard
Now, when you make a selection from the Totals drop down we maintain the data category selectors in addition to the matter type/participant selections. Now if you just want to look at credits you can remove all fees collected with a single button click.
Fixes – cards in performance pages
We have fixed an issue with the cards in both My Performance and Performance. When instituting our Teams changes the filter on the cards switched to looking at the person’s data visibility permissions as opposed to passing through the filter on the page.
This resulted in managers and others with everyone or team visibility clicking on a card for an individual and seeing all the data they have the rights to access according to data visibility.
This is now fixed. The card will pick up the filter on the page and pass that through to the report generator. So, if you have selected just one person in the drop down on the Performance page, or if you are on the My Performance page, when clicking any of the totals card you will see just the report for that one person you have selected.
Note: the report was still restricted by the data visibility of the individual; a standard user with Themselves data visibility would never have gotten access to any data they shouldn’t have. The bug only affected users with greater levels of access.
Launch!
Self Sign up
Organisations can now sign up! On our login page you will see a little link below the login function which says “Sign up now”. Clicking this will prompt the user to sign into Actionstep. They will then go through one of two flows:
Normal User
The system checks if they are a “Subscription” level admin in Actionstep. If not they are passed through to Workzilla with Standard Access, Solo data visibility and a personal 7 day free trial.
The company is created using the Actionstep company name, we sync only the data relevant to that user. The user is prompted to create a password before they are granted access to their dashboard.
This allows them access to just their own data pages and the ability to review their My Performance page. If they like the software they can then request it from their administration.
Admin with Subscription User
If the system detects that the user has subscription rights in Actionstep we grant them similar access in Workzilla.
The company is created or, if someone has already trialed it, they at attached to the pre-existing company.
We begin syncing the whole company data.
The user is prompted to create a password.
They then begin a 45 day free trial for their company where they have unfettered access to Workzilla for the extent of those 45 days. At the expiry of the free trial their functionality is locked and they must subscribe to continue.
No consultants required
The entire process is very hands off and easy. From clicking sign up to landing in the system it takes roughly 7 minutes, allowing the Admin to start creating teams and inviting users. Dashboards will continue to be sync’d for about 40 minutes with zero intervention or setup required from the users. Once the data has fully sync’d they are good to go.
Subscriptions
We have integrated with Stripe to be our payment gateway provider. Our launch pricing is:
AUD $100 per firm + GST
AUD $10 per Actionstep user + GST (users with the @ actiostep email domain are not counted and firms will not have to pay for them. Generally these are consultants, not internal users).
Upcoming
We have begun working on Budgets! You can expect to see an iteration on this coming very soon and we will be reaching out to some of our beta clients for user acceptance testing.
We are also working on Age of WIP on the Unrealised Cashflow page. This took a backseat to some of the performance enhancements we worked on this patch, but it is coming back into focus next week.
Thanks for all the feedback guys, keep it coming.
