Hi Everyone,

Our most requested feature is now live for you all to go in and review: Age of WIP on the Unrealised Cashflow Page.

Age of WIP – Features

Here is a quick list of features we have shipped supporting Age of WIP:

  • Drillable Micro Cards displaying totals within 4 age brackets for each Fees, Disbursements and Invoiced
  • Gradients to visually convey size of time
  • Separation of Disbursements from Fees
  • A key allowing you to turn on/off age brackets
  • Added the ability to dill into the larger total cards
  • Better hover over support in the chart

Micro Cards

This is our first page with this new design concept, we hope you will give us some feedback on it.

Each micro card displays the total within the age bracket, as well as showing the gradient that is linked to that bracket and, on hover over, highlighting that bracket below in the chart.

Each of these cards is also drillable, which creates an exportable report of all the entries in that bracket.

We are planning to enrich this drill down at a later stage but we would love your feedback on what you would want to see in that report, so please send that feedback through.

Drillable Totals Cards

This page was one of the first to introduce cards and, since then we have made most of the other cards on other pages drillable. We thought we would extend that functionality to this page as well. Now, if you click on any of the large cards you will see an exportable report just for that category.

Age of WIP gradient and hover over support

The Age of WIP gradient on the chart should hopefully allow you to hover over and then review the amount each person has in that age bracket.

We would love feedback on the gradient as this is a bit of a work in progress.

You will also notice that now, if you hover over a particular section of the chart you will only see the information for the section you are on. However, if you hover over the white space on a line you will see all the totals for that selection.

Proof of Concept – Budgets

Our first, low design proof of concept for budgets is now available for testing on our BETA site. If you would be interested in jumping in and giving us your feedback please let us know and we can give you access to test the functionality.

Technical Performance Upgrade

We have done a bit of back end work to make the My Performance and Performance pages load faster. You should hopefully see a marked improvement in the load time for these pages (by a factor of 3).

Manage Teams – Save button hover over

We received feedback that, when creating a team it wasn’t obvious that naming the team was mandatory.

We have now added a hover over on the save button when it is greyed out which will tell the user that they have to name the team before proceeding.

Manage Users Page UX change

While we believe the functionality and controls on the Manage Users page are sufficient and comprehensive, it was obviously not easy to use for newer users. This was feedback we’ve had from multiple people so we gave the page a glow up.

We have changed the names of the columns and the hover over explanations.

We have moved the columns so that they are more aligned to the workflow.

We have also renamed and reordered some of the selections within the drop downs to make it more obvious what you are selecting.

We hope this will make administration of users easier and more intuitive.

Pop-up (Toaster) to let you know that your Actionstep token has expired/that you have to login

Occasionally a user’s Actionstep token will expire and we wanted to let you know so that you can continue to access the deep links provided by Actionstep in the reports. Similarly we wanted to let new users know that they should log-in to Actionstep when they first land in the system. The blue button up the top wasn’t serving as a potent call to action.

So we have implemented a pop-up which prompts the user to log-in.

Future

We are still working on Budgets and some back-end changes this week.

We are looking at some of the design of the company dashboard to make it more user friendly in terms of how you interact with the charts, adding hover over effects to the charts on other pages and, hopefully taking another pass at ‘invoiced amounts’ if we can find the data we want to enrich those views.

Most of the functionality in today’s release comes directly from feedback from you guys, our users. Please keep it coming, it’s invaluable. We hope we are living up to your expectations.
