Set up Xero integration
Steps to connect Workzilla to Xero Payroll, link staff members to their Xero employee records, and confirm salary data has been imported correctly.
What you'll have at the end
Xero is connected, staff members are linked to their Xero employee records, and salary data is syncing automatically.
-
1Navigate to Subscription Settings > Integrations
-
2Click "Connect to Xero"This opens the Xero integration page. The integration adds $5 (+GST) per month to your Workzilla subscription. It is free during any active trial period.
-
3Tick the subscription consent checkbox and click ConnectYou will be redirected to Xero to log in.
-
4Log in with your Xero credentials
-
5Select your organisationOnly organisations with Xero Payroll enabled will appear. If you have more than one, select the correct one before continuing.
-
6Review the employee matching screenWorkzilla will attempt to match your Workzilla staff members to their Xero employee records by name. Review each suggested match — where the match is incorrect, use the dropdown to select the right person.
-
7Confirm there are no duplicate matchesEach Xero employee can only be linked to one staff member. If the same Xero employee appears as a suggested match for more than one staff member, correct this before proceeding — the system will not allow duplicate links.
-
8Link staff members to their Xero recordsLink individually or click Link all once all matches are confirmed.
-
9Review the salary import reportThis screen shows what salary data has been imported. Salaries imported from Xero are super-inclusive — the figure shown includes superannuation. Where a staff member already had a manually entered salary in Manage Users, it will be updated and the start date set to the date of the integration. Where no salary existed, the start date will reflect the employee's start date in Xero.
Xero is connected and salary data is now syncing automatically. Going forward, Workzilla will also import approved leave and — if you have the accounting module — begin pulling in profit and loss data.
